With anything that has to do with real estate, it’s good to get to know the people who you’re interacting with. I always find it easier to go to work for my clients when I get to know them and what their goals are. Take this time, and use this page to get to know me better.
I’ll start out by saying that I’m 21 years old. Many people are surprised by how young I am for being a Realtor, though what surprises them even more is performance and the level of professionalism that I give all my clients. I’m in the business of helping others buy and sell real estate, this is more than just a career for me. Everyday, especially in a “slow market” like we are having now, I see many real estate agents not continuing in the business. A lot of these people jumped into the game back in 2004 and 2005 to make a quick dollar when real estate was booming. The market may have slowed down but I haven’t. I’ll continue to serve those with real estate needs, I’m in this business to stay.
I was born in Spokane Washington, only 20 miles from the Idaho state line. My parents grew up in the Spokane Valley where I spent the first year of my life. Our house caught fire and the only thing that was left were a few belongings and my parents hope for a better Tomorrow. My parents took this hope and moved to Sandpoint Idaho, 45 miles North of Coeur d’Alene.
My dad worked construction and my mom did secretarial work and soon pulled themselves out of the ashes to better provide for me and my brother who’s two years older then I am. Over the years my parents had gone from $5 in their pocket when they arrived in Sandpoint to now owning a few highly successful businesses. They started with selling building products though a business called Pend Oreille Exteriors (later called Ponderay Exteriors), this helped in my dads construction/general contracting projects. Next to the list was the aquisition of Squeeky’s UHaul and Ministorage in Kootenai Idaho which they still own to this day. My dad got out of residential contruction and went into commerical, and steel structures, this is when Sandpoint Structures/Dempsey and Associates was born. You’ll most likely see my dad at any large steel building site in the area watching over the project. My mom currently
spends her time running Squeeky’s and also doing paperwork for different investments and projects that are currently in the works. In the off time, my mom spends the majority of her time with her horses at Pend Oreille Farms. Pend Oreille Farm’s is my moms creation which is named after the surrounding lake. She started with one horse long ago and now has over 60 both full size and miniature, and even a zebra. Growing up, I showed the horses and traveled as far as Seattle for some shows. We did pretty well, I remember once bring home over 45 ribbons from one show.
Growing up on a farm was definately fun and it provided for some good stories at school everyday. This also allowed for my brother Christopher and I to become close over the years as their wasn’t many other people to spend time with living out of town. My brother joined the military after high school and only recently returned from active duty over seas. It would be an understatement saying that I was proud of him. I’m definately lucky to have the great family that I have and the unique upbringing. I wouldn’t change a thing if I were to do it all over again.
I graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2004 where I spent a lot of my time in architecture/drafting, and art classes while also doing a bit of Engineering and robotics. I had 6 college credits in Aritecture/drafting by the time I graduated but I wasn’t sure if that’s what I wanted to do. I enjoy drawing and design so I wanted to get more into that. In the pursuit of bettering myself in the field I left North Idaho and spent some time in Southern California. While in California, I started up a small design business named Playforward Designs, the same name I used for high school design work. The California lifestyle was nice but it ended up being to costly trying to work for myself and I’ll admit that I got homesick so I returned to North Idaho with the business where I still to freelance design on the side. After returning, I started to help my dad in the construction field though I knew it’s not what I really wanted to do so I started looking for different sources of income. In the process, I opened up a business called Cheaper Moves. I got my independent UHaul dealers license and now am able to rent UHauls anywhere in North America.
During the same time of opening up Cheaper Moves I started looking more into real estate. Homes and property had always intrigued me and this is when the thought of getting my real estate license came up. I pursued getting my license and starting a career in real estate. Once of the main reasons I got my license was to help people buy or sell their homes. I feel everyone should have the opportunity to get into a home and be a part of the “American Dream.” This career is really rewarding and I feel as though it’s one of the best decisions I have ever made and that North Idaho is one of the best places to be doing it.
I’ve traveled through most of the United States and I strongly believe there’s no place like North Idaho and it’s mountains and lakes. You’ll probably find me on either, depending on what season it is. I like to go out on the lake in the summer and ski or wakeboard, and I like to go up on the mountains to either play in the snow or get some off-roading time in. I’m a certified scuba diver since 2001 and am always looking for new dive partners so if you’re certified we should
go. I’m definately a car/truck person. I take great price in what I drive and like to spend a lot of effort in having unique or different cars. My pride and joy is my ‘92 Japanese Domestic Market Toyota GT-four RC which is the only known street legal one in the United States. It’s right-hand-drive, turbocharged, and a homologation rally car.
My goal in real estate is to not only help people with home ownership or selling their property, but also to continue to learn and build new relationships. I learn something new everyday from the people I meet and this career has been very rewarding by doing so. I look to be one of the ‘go-to’ people in real estate for the area while at the same time being able to provide for myself and my family.
The preceding is the basics about me. If you have any questions or would like to know more information about something, then please contact me. I’d be happy to hear from you and answer any questions that you may have.
